Position Overview

The Wellness Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) will assist the Resident Services Director in the comprehensive implementation, delivery, and coordination of Resident Care Services within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee associates in the Resident Services Department, including Certified Nursing Assistants (C.N.A.s).
  • Assist in managing the medication program and support residents with self-administration of their medications.
  • Foster positive relationships with residents, their families, and healthcare providers.
  • Report significant incidents or changes in residents' needs to the Executive Director or Resident Services Director.
  • Assist in completing resident assessments and developing service plans.
  • Support clinical assessments and recertifications in accordance with ALSA requirements.
  • Help the Resident Services Director with hiring and performance management within the department.
  • Participate in training and orientation for new team members.
  • Engage in scheduled in-service programs, training sessions, and team meetings.
  • Assist with the scheduling and staffing of Resident Services Assistants as necessary.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to associates in the Resident Services Department.
  • Support residents and their families to ensure a high level of satisfaction.
  • Supervise RSA staff during care provision.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Adhere to emergency procedures.
  • Understand and implement safety practices and protocols.
Communication
  • Effectively communicate with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with residents, families, peers, and other staff members.
  • Encourage a supportive work environment.
Qualifications
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse license in the relevant state(s).
  • Basic first aid and CPR certification.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent clinical experience.
  • Experience in assisted living or long-term care settings is preferred.
