Job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and innovative Teacher (Mu’allim) to join our team and play a vital role in shaping our Miraaj’s vision, curriculum, and culture. The Teacher (Mu’allim) will be responsible for lesson planning, classroom management, and collaborating with colleagues and parents to ensure students receive a well-rounded spiritual and academic education.

This role reports directly to the Principal.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Development - Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that integrate Quranic teachings with core academic subjects (Math, Science, Language Arts, and Social Studies). Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and help all students reach their full potential.

Classroom Management & Student Development- Establish a nurturing and structured classroom environment that upholds Islamic etiquette (adab) and discipline.

Accreditation Readiness, Assessment & Student Progress Monitoring - Support the school’s accreditation process by maintaining detailed records, lesson plans, and student progress reports. Conduct regular assessments to track students’ academic progress and adjust instruction accordingly.

Collaboration & Professional Development - Participate in curriculum planning, teacher training, and accreditation workshops to strengthen the school’s foundation. Engage in continuous professional development to enhance both Islamic and academic instructional practices.

Community & Parent Engagement - Build strong relationships with parents, engaging them as partners in their children’s education. Communicate regularly with parents about students’ progress, behavior, and achievements. Organize and participate in school activities and extracurricular events.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
  • Certification: TN Teaching certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of teaching experience, preferably in an Islamic or faith-based school or mosque.
