  • Expected pay for this position is $15.00. 
  • Job Summary
    • The Information Services Intern will gain on-the-job experience by supporting our in-house IT department in providing technical assistance, maintaining computer systems, and configuring hardware and software. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, assist with implementing new technologies, and provide training and support to team members. 

  • Job Specifications
    • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

      • Enrolment in an accredited educational baccalaureate degree program.

      JOB KNOWLEDGE: 

      • Knowledge of computer systems and software
      • Knowledge of network and system security
      • Familiarity with hardware and software installation
      • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

      ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS:

      1. Interacts calmly and professionally in difficult situations.
      2. Capable of using tact, courtesy, and diplomacy in all interactions.
      3. Absolute integrity and sufficient maturity to handle confidential aspects of work.
      4. Ability to make decisions of judgmental basis to prioritize work assignments to make maximum use of knowledge and ability, and most effective and economical use of computers and peripheral equipment.
      5. A preference of technical activities in order to keep informed on operation of new equipment and new techniques for operating current machines.
      6. Ability to deal with people, such as other hospital departmental supervisors to resolve problems, concerns with scheduling, adequacy, and accuracy of data.
      7. Ability to handle multiple, concurrent tasks: communication skills to train personnel confer with other hospital employees and other technical personnel and prepare oral and written reports and records.
      8. There is moderate level of occasional lifting (40-50 pounds), bending, stooping, or sitting in a confined position.
      9. Needs to be able to cope with stress that exists on the job.
      10. Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
