Job description

Teufel Landscape is seeking an experienced Irrigation Technician to support our Oregon Maintenance Division. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing commercial irrigation systems while building strong client relationships and helping properties perform at their best.
What You'll Do
Irrigation Service & Repair
  • Diagnose and repair irrigation system issues including valves, heads, lateral lines, mainlines, controllers, wiring, and pumps.
  • Perform irrigation audits, inspections, startup services, and winterization services.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic irrigation system problems.
  • Program, adjust, and optimize irrigation controllers for maximum efficiency and water conservation.
  • Respond to service requests and emergency irrigation repairs.
Water Management & System Performance
  • Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, coverage, and water use.
  • Recommend repairs, upgrades, and enhancements that improve system reliability and landscape health.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify deficiencies before they become major issues.
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial irrigation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing commercial irrigation systems.
  • Experience with irrigation controllers, valves, wiring, clocks, backflow devices, and system diagnostics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have insurable driving record and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Oregon Backflow Tester Certification.
  • Experience with smart irrigation technology and central control systems.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
