This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company's locations: Atlantic Fields, set outside of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Atlantic Fields is seeking an Irrigation Manager to join the Agronomy/Golf Course Maintenance Department.
The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for working closely with the Director of Agronomy and supervising all golf course and landscape irrigation on the entire property. The Irrigation Manager will be part of a brand-new Tom Fazio designed golf course, which opened for play in November of 2025. Atlantic Fields features Mach 1 greens, TifTuf fairways and primary roughs; along with Palisades Zoysia as the secondary rough and Bahia as the out of play rough. In this role you will be part of creating the Discovery Land Company experience for our members and fellow employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining the golf course and landscape irrigation systems
  • Oversees a small team of irrigation techs that are responsible for final build out and ongoing irrigation maintenance and trouble shooting
  • Manage all irrigation systems by monitoring and evaluating overall performance utilizing the RainBird Cirrus Pro program.
  • Repairs sprinklers and pipes on the golf course, when needed, while regularly checking the conditions of the equipment, and keeping them clean and adjusted for the course.
  • Able to work without supervision on a range of irrigation maintenance on a day to day basis.
  • Maintains inventory of parts needed and associated with the irrigation system and orders new parts when needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • Experience in golf course irrigation installation and repair.
  • Experience in operating golf course irrigation equipment.

  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to deliver service to members, guests, and team members.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and a shift greater than eight (8) hours in length.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.
