Job description

Sunline Landscapes, located in Bluffdale, UT, is a leader in high-end landscape construction and design. As a growing company, Sunline Landscapes offers the opportunity to work on unique and challenging projects while being part of a supportive and collaborative team. The Irrigation Technician will serve as the primary irrigation expert within the Construction Department, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and support to ensure that all irrigation systems are installed and maintained to the highest standards. This role is ideal for individuals who take pride in quality workmanship, enjoy solving complex irrigation challenges, and are eager to contribute to a dynamic and expanding organization.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the subject matter expert for irrigation within the Construction Department.
  • Assist construction crews with the installation, layout, troubleshooting, and repair of irrigation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve irrigation issues, developing practical and long-term solutions.
  • Program, test, and optimize irrigation controllers, including Hydrawise systems.
  • Ensure all irrigation installations meet company quality standards and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and field crews to support project completion and address irrigation-related concerns.
  • Train and mentor team members on irrigation techniques and best practices as needed.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of landscape lighting and water features.
  • Track labor, materials, and parts used on projects to support accurate job costing and inventory management.
  • Stay current on irrigation technology, products, and water conservation practices.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial and residential irrigation systems.
  • Strong knowledge of irrigation design principles, valves, controllers, wiring, pumps, and diagnostics.
  • Experience with Hydrawise irrigation controllers preferred.
  • Familiarity with landscape lighting and water features preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with field teams.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) certification preferred.
Compensation

$25.00 - $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
