Locum Hematology/Oncology Opportunity – Iowa
A growing oncology practice in Iowa is seeking a Board-Certified Hematologist/Oncologist for ongoing locum coverage in a primarily outpatient setting with limited inpatient responsibilities.
Compensation:
Orientation: $505/hr
Hourly: $505/hr
Holiday Hourly: $760/hr
Night Call: $780
Holiday Night Call: $1,170/hr
24 Hour On Call: $3,505
Holiday 24 Hour On Call: $5,260
Call Back: $700/hr
Holiday Call Back: $1,050/hr
Position Overview
Specialty: Hematology/Oncology
Schedule: Monday–Thursday
Shift Length: 8 hours
Clinic Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Approximately 16 shifts per month
Adult patient population (18+)
Clinical Responsibilities
New patient consultations
Follow-up visits
Hematology and oncology patient management
Oversight of antineoplastic therapies
Coordination of treatment plans
Limited inpatient consultative services
Hospitalists manage admissions, and inpatient responsibilities are typically limited to occasional phone consultations and infrequent hospital consults.
Practice Details
Outpatient oncology clinic
Average clinic volume: 16–20 patients per day
Average inpatient consult volume: 0–2 patients daily
Appointment lengths:
Follow-up visits: 15–20 minutes
New consultations: 60 minutes

Requirements
Board Certified in Hematology & Oncology
Board Certified in Oncology with strong Hematology/Oncology experience will be considered
Fellowship-trained in Hematology & Oncology
Active Iowa license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification required
Full-time availability (Monday–Thursday) required
Clean malpractice and background history
Current NPDB Self-Query report dated within 30 days of presentation
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Hematology/Oncology experience strongly preferred
New graduates will be considered
Comfortable practicing in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment

Four exam rooms per provider
Medical imaging, laboratory, and pharmacy services onsite
Teaching opportunities available
Collaborative multidisciplinary oncology team

Travel assistance available per facility guidelines
