This role ensures reliable setup, operation, and maintenance of AV equipment - projectors, displays, sound reinforcement, microphones, conferencing, digital signage, and control systems - to deliver exceptional guest and team member experiences. The AV Support Technician partners closely with IT, Events/Entertainment, Facilities, and external vendors to plan and execute events, resolve issues quickly, and maintain high system uptime.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Event and Room Support: Set up, support, and strike AV systems for meetings, shows, and special events; perform sound checks, stage patching, mic/IFB coordination, projection/switching, and live presentation support.
  • Daily Operations: Monitor and support installed AV systems (conference rooms, event center, digital signage, background music/PA, IPTV) to ensure availability, correct presets, and consistent quality.
  • Troubleshooting and Incident Response: Diagnose and resolve AV issues (audio, video, control, networked AV) quickly; escalate to vendors/engineers when needed; document incidents and resolutions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, firmware updates, inventory management, lamp/laser hour checks, cable and connector repairs, and cleanliness of gear and racks; maintain accurate asset records.
  • System Configuration and Integration: Assist with configuration of DSPs, control processors, and networked AV under guidance from IT; ensure safe integration with house systems and IT standards.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with Events/Entertainment, Hotel Operations, F&B, Security, and IT to confirm requirements, run-of-show, and change requests; provide clear pre/post-event updates.
  • Vendor and Rental Coordination: Interface with external vendors for equipment rentals, repairs, and service tickets; verify deliveries, test gear, and ensure adherence to SLAs and property standards.
  • User Training and Documentation: Provide basic training and quick-reference guides for end users; maintain room diagrams, I/O maps, labeling, runbooks, and inventory logs.
  • Health, Safety, and Compliance: Follow safety protocols for rigging, power, and lift work; comply with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations, including restricted areas and secure handling of equipment.
  • Continuous Improvement: Capture lessons learned, propose standard room presets, recommend equipment lifecycle refreshes, and contribute to AV standards that improve reliability and guest experience.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: Support the property's overall operations and success by fulfilling additional responsibilities as required.
