Position Title: Mid-Level Patent Litigation Associate – Intellectual Property

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Industry: Legal – Intellectual Property Litigation

Experience Level: 3–4 Years


Overview:

A global law firm is hiring a Patent Litigation Associate for its Intellectual Property and Technology group in Chicago. The successful candidate will have substantial experience with all phases of litigation, including briefing, discovery, depositions, and settlement strategy. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney looking to take initiative and grow into a leadership role on complex IP cases.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Represent clients in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation
  • Manage and prepare key filings: complaints, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
  • Participate in deposition preparation and execution
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on trial preparation and strategic planning
  • Maintain active communication with clients and team members


Qualifications:


  • 3–4 years of IP litigation experience in a law firm setting
  • Experience managing written discovery and preparing/deposing witnesses
  • Must be Patent Bar eligible
  • Strong research, analytical, and legal writing skills
  • Licensed in Illinois or eligible to waive in


Compensation & Benefits:
