Job Summary:
JOB SUMMARY:
The IONM Specialist performs Neurodiagnostic studies in the operative environment with some guidance. Able to complete one or more of the modalities: SSEP, EEG, or EMG.
SHIFT/SCHEDULE:

• Fulltime | M-F | 5x8s | 6:30a-3p
• On call shift requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review planned intraoperative procedure and orders for monitoring to determine the structures at risk relative to patient history/pre-existing conditions and monitoring requested.
• Establish monitoring equipment in the operating room to ensure patient electrical safety and ability to communicate with team members including anesthesiologist, surgeon, and nursing staff according to lab protocol.
• Cleans and disinfects equipment according to lab protocol.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

• Patient Evaluation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to conduct a patient evaluation in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Capable of effectively assessing the relative merits of alternative products or services.
• Medical Terminology & Documentation (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate medical terminology and documentation in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
• Equipment Maintenance (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate the ability to maintain equipment, products, or systems in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Assures that parts inventory is sufficient.
• Diagnostic Testing (Novice): Demonstrates proficiency of diagnostic testing in practical applications. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results.
