What is an Invisalign?

An Invisalign job typically involves working with clear aligner orthodontic treatments, either as a dentist, orthodontist, or a dental assistant specializing in Invisalign cases. Professionals in this field assess patients' dental alignment, create treatment plans, and oversee the progression of aligner therapy. Some roles may also involve working for Invisalign as a sales representative, trainer, or support specialist, providing guidance to dental professionals.

What are the main responsibilities of a dental professional specializing in Invisalign treatments?

Dental professionals specializing in Invisalign treatments are responsible for assessing patient suitability, developing custom treatment plans, and guiding patients throughout the alignment process. This involves taking digital impressions, using specialized software to design treatment pathways, and monitoring patient progress with regular check-ups. They also play an important role in educating patients about oral hygiene and the Invisalign process, as well as troubleshooting any issues with aligner fit or compliance. Collaboration with dental team members helps ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Invisalign position, and why are they important?

The job title 'Invisalign' is not a valid standalone professional occupation; instead, it is a brand of clear aligners often used in dental and orthodontic practices. Professionals who work with Invisalign, such as orthodontists or dental assistants, typically require dental degrees, certification in orthodontics, and training in Invisalign treatment protocols. They use specialized imaging software, patient management systems, and Invisalign-specific diagnostic tools in their daily work. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to educate and reassure patients are essential for achieving successful patient outcomes and ensuring a high standard of care.

How to become an Invisalign technician?

Invisalign technicians, often called dental lab technicians or orthodontic lab specialists, typically need a high school diploma or equivalent and specialized training in dental technology or orthodontics. Certification programs or courses in dental lab work and familiarity with Invisalign aligner fabrication are beneficial. Experience with dental CAD/CAM software and attention to detail are important for this role.

Job description

Practice Hygiene the Way It Should Be - Join Newton Centre Dental as a Full-Time Dental Hygienist!

If you’re a Dental Hygienist who values quality over rushing, meaningful patient relationships, and being treated like the clinical professional you are, Newton Centre Dental may be exactly what you’ve been looking for. For more than 20 years, our established Newton practice has built its reputation around personalized, comprehensive dentistry and long-term patient relationships. We’re a boutique, multi-specialty practice with a loyal patient community, modern digital workflow, and a team that believes exceptional dentistry starts with giving clinicians the time and support to do their best work.

You’ll be joining an established practice with a full schedule and loyal patient base from day one, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care rather than building your schedule.

And if stability matters to you, you’ll find it here. Join a team where many of our clinical employees have built long-term careers.

Why Choose Newton Centre Dental?

  • Exceptional Earning Potential: $55-60+/hour based on experience
  • Monthly Incentive Bonuses: Opportunity to earn approximately $500-1,000 more per month, potentially adding the equivalent of roughly $3-5/hour to your total compensation
  • $2,500 Sign-On Bonus: A little something extra for choosing to grow your career with us
  • Full-Time Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, and disability coverage, with benefits beginning after 30 days
  • Time to Recharge: 3 weeks PTO + 8 paid holidays
  • No Accelerated Hygiene: 60-minute adult recall appointments so you have the time to provide thorough, personalized care
  • Established Patient Base: Step into a full hygiene schedule with loyal patients and consistent demand
  • Predictable Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7AM-4PM with no evenings or weekends
  • Professional Growth: Paid CE, mentorship, professional development, and career advancement opportunities throughout Affinity Dental Management's growing network
  • Modern Clinical Environment: Fully digital workflow, Denticon, digital charting, 6 operatories, and a refreshed office environment
  • Easy Commute: Convenient onsite parking

Location & Schedule

  • Newton Centre Dental
    • 1400 Centre Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02459
  • Full-Time Schedule:
    • Monday–Friday | 7AM-4PM
      • No evenings or weekends

A Hygiene Environment Built Around Quality Care

At Newton Centre Dental, hygiene isn't about moving as many patients through the schedule as possible. Our 60-minute adult recall appointments and no accelerated hygiene model allow you to slow down, educate patients, build trust, and provide the level of care you were trained to deliver. Our practice primarily serves an established community seeking comprehensive, personalized dentistry, with a payer mix that leans more toward fee-for-service and PPO care rather than heavy insurance participation. You’ll collaborate with experienced dentists and team members in an environment where hygienists are respected as an essential part of the clinical team.

Your Role as a Dental Hygienist

  • Provide comprehensive preventive and therapeutic hygiene care, including cleanings, scaling and root planing, and fluoride treatments
  • Conduct periodontal assessments and maintain accurate periodontal charting
  • Capture and interpret diagnostic-quality digital radiographs
  • Educate patients on oral health, periodontal health, and individualized preventive care
  • Conduct head, neck, and oral cancer screenings
  • Identify periodontal and restorative concerns and communicate findings with the dentist
  • Build lasting relationships with patients through education, trust, and consistency
  • Collaborate with doctors and clinical team members to provide comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate digital patient records and uphold OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards

What We’re Looking For

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program
  • Active Massachusetts Dental Hygienist license
  • Current CPR certification
  • Local anesthesia certification required or willingness to obtain
  • 1+ year of dental hygiene experience preferred, although motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong clinical judgment and patient education skills
  • Warm, professional communication style
  • Commitment to comprehensive, patient-centered care and long-term patient relationships

About Newton Centre Dental

Newton Centre Dental is an established six-operatory, multi-specialty practice that has served Newton and surrounding communities for more than 20 years. Our state-of-the-art facility was designed around patient comfort, with private treatment rooms, modern technology, digital workflows, and a calming environment. Our practice provides everything from routine preventive care to Invisalign, cosmetic dentistry, porcelain veneers, implants, sedation dentistry, smile makeovers, and comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitation. Our office was refreshed in 2024 while maintaining what has made Newton Centre Dental successful for decades: personalized dentistry, high clinical standards, strong patient relationships, and an experienced team.

Find a Practice Where You Can Stay and Grow

If you're happy where you are, this opportunity may still be worth a conversation.

You don't have to choose between strong earning potential and a clinical environment where you have the time to care for your patients properly. At Newton Centre Dental, you'll step into an established schedule, work alongside a supportive team, and have the resources to build a rewarding long-term career.

Ready to see whether Newton Centre Dental could be the right fit? Apply today, we'd love to start the conversation.
