We are seeking an Operations Associate to join our team! This is an exciting opportunity if you thrive in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will assume critical process, control, and recording responsibilities for endowment financial reporting and analytics. Reporting to the Director - Investment Operations, Risk and Analytics, you will be responsible for core operational functions and for producing key reports and analytics for leadership.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Manage documentation and processes to onboard new external investment managers.
  • Monitor investment manager requests and coordinate with responsible investment team members.
  • Review quarterly valuations and transactions for the Long-Term Pool investment portfolio and post accounting entries in the general ledger.
  • Prepare dashboards and periodic portfolio analytics.
  • Assist with the tracking of portfolio company level data for private equity fund investments.
  • Assist with the operational due diligence review for private equity and hedge fund managers.
  • Assist with AI integration projects within the Investment Office.
  • Support audit, tax, and other regulatory filings.

  • Knowledge of professional practice in financial accounting and reporting, internal controls, and external reporting. Ability to read, interpret, and analyze GAAP and IFRS financial documents.
  • Ability to problem solve and gather/analyze information skillfully and efficiently.
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to analyze large data sets and identify patterns and gaps within the data.
  • Team player approach to collaboration, strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail, and a keen sense of prioritization and planning.
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills and high standards of professional ethics and integrity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, economics or finance required; CPA desired.
  • Minimum five years in a finance, accounting or auditing position. Previous investment operations or asset management experience is a plus.
  • Experience with investment operations platforms such as Dynamo, Geneva Advent, BNY Nexen, Microsoft Power Bi is a plus.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
