Job description

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST is seeking a Portfolio Implementation Associate who will work in conjunction with the Investment Group to manage accounts. As a Portfolio Implementation Associate, you will operate within the Investment Group to ensure accounts are invested according to their chosen strategy and abide by any client instructions and restrictions.

From day one, you will have an impact on the efficiency and effectiveness of our daily operations, and a lasting influence on our growth plans. Our ideal candidate is comfortable working with all levels of management to gain an in-depth understanding of our strategy and services. He/She/They will maintain the highest professional and ethical standards, be well-organized, service-oriented, collaborative, and accountable while performing under tight deadlines. This is a full-time position working Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Primary responsibilities may include the following, among others:


  • Review accounts to ensure they are invested properly according to the stated strategy guidelines and any client restrictions
  • Implement discretionary model changes and review orders for accuracy
  • Review and implement trades for discretionary accounts due to contributions, distributions, asset allocation changes, or other changes while ensuring the accounts are in line with the strategy after such events take place
  • Prepare and review audit and drift reports to ensure all accounts are in line with stated strategy guidelines, asset allocation targets and restrictions
  • Manage administrative changes for accounts in the CAPTRUST rebalancing and trading platform
  • Manage data integrity in the CAPTRUST rebalancing and trading platform
  • Collaborate and communicate with the Investment Group, Client Service, Advisor teams, and Trading Teams regularly
  • Assist or run point on ad hoc requests within the team or from other teams as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of work experience
  •  Basic understanding of financial markets
  • Intermediate level Excel knowledge (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, etc.)

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • 1-3 years of work experience related to finance and portfolio management responsibilities
  • Basic understanding of financial markets.
  • Understanding of market knowledge, operational aspects of asset/money movement, rebalancing accounts, and trading attributes of different investment types
  • Experience working with a Trading Order Management System or Rebalancer system
  • Technology savvy, Power BI experience a plus
  • Collaborative and team oriented
  • Ability to be detail oriented in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organization skills such as multi-tasking, adapting priorities and meeting deadlines
