Job description

Position: Instructor, DBAT
Location:
 DBAT O'Fallon
Hours Include evenings and weekends

Position Summary

DBAT is seeking a highly motivated, personable Baseball/Softball Instructor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has collegiate level playing or coaching experience and a genuine passion for developing athletes of all ages and skill levels. This role extends beyond on-field instruction and includes building strong client relationships, managing a personal book of business, and contributing to the overall growth and success of DBAT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality private and group instruction in hitting, pitching, fielding, and/or catching based on individual expertise.
  • Clearly break down complex concepts to ensure understanding and engagement from both athletes and parents.
  • Build, manage, and grow a personal client base by proactively seeking new training opportunities.
  • Develop strong, lasting relationships with athletes and families, involving parents in the training process when appropriate.
  • Maintain a positive, professional, and outgoing presence that aligns with DBAT’s values and commitment to athlete development.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow instructors and staff while supporting overall facility operations as needed.
  • Demonstrate initiative by contributing to personal business growth and the broader success of DBAT.
  • Participate in camps, clinics, and special training programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years of collegiate level playing experience or equivalent coaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of baseball/softball fundamentals, mechanics, and game strategy.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and build rapport with athletes, parents, and staff.
  • Confidence in instructional ability, paired with a positive attitude and athlete-first mindset.
  • Personable, outgoing, and motivated to grow both personally and professionally.
  • Willingness to invest time upfront to establish and grow a client base.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends.

 Preferred Traits

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage and grow a book of business.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to assist wherever needed within the facility.
  • Ability to create a welcoming, supportive, and motivating environment for athletes and families.
  • Experience using video analysis or training technology to enhance instruction.
