Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Investment Fund Analyst!

About the Role

The Senior Investment Fund Analyst will focus on a variety of activities related to Fund Administration, including investor and portfolio management reporting, investor communication, accounting, performance, attribution, and compliance.

This is a remote role with required travel to the Farmington, CT office for in-person events a few times per year.

What You Will Do

  • Investment Analysis and Reporting: Gather and analyze investment data to prepare reports on the fund's investment portfolio. Work with the investors, accounting provider and various internal teams to produce accurate, timely and meaningful investment reports. This includes overseeing an annual audit and creation of audited financial statements.
    Investor Relations: Communicate with investors; receive and process redemption and subscription orders; acknowledge and report on transaction activity; track investor units, transactions and P&L
  • Fund Accounting: Oversee external Investment Accounting Service team. Review journal entries and NAV calculations; account for fund expenses; distribute income to investors
  • Investment Compliance: Monitor compliance with fund term sheet, including investment guidelines. Assist with monitoring Investment department adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Investment Operations Support: Assist the Investment Operations Team in all areas including reconciliations, trade entry, matching and settlement, daily deliverables, and policy and procedure documentation.
  • Special Projects: Participate in project teams as relevant. Strive to improve efficiency and reliability of cash and investment records, disclosures and reports. Work to improve and streamline investment infrastructure and processes.

Compensation

Salary Range: Min $109,000 - Max $148,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Investment Operations/Fund Administration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail while being analytically oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task and to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Continuously exhibit a high level of motivation and initiative. Results focused.
  • Ideal candidate must have versatility and flexibility to assist with coverage of other team members.
  • Candidate is expected to look at policies and processes and provide recommendations for improvement and automation.
  • Candidate must have a strong technology focus and have interest and ability to use technology to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Bloomberg or other trade order management system experience.
  • Simcorp Dimension or other investment accounting system experience.
  • Strong Excel skills required; experience with Python and other data analytics or programming tools is a plus.
  • Previous experience with Fund Accounting for Unit Trusts
  • PowerBI or similar reporting application.
