Job Description:
The Senior Director, North America Marketing is a strategic marketing leader responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that drive growth, strengthen brand leadership, and deepen client engagement across North America. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role leads the firm's regional marketing efforts across institutional, wealth management channel, and Canadian go-to-market teams, ensuring alignment with global business priorities and commercial objectives. As a key member of the Global Marketing Leadership Team, this position serves as a strategic partner to business leaders across North America and plays a critical role in translating business objectives into measurable marketing outcomes that support asset growth, client retention, and brand differentiation.
The Senior Director will oversee a team of marketing leaders and professionals responsible for audience marketing, demand generation, client engagement, digital marketing, events, content activation, and campaign execution. The role requires a deep understanding of institutional and wealth management audiences, investment products, client decision-making processes, and the evolving distribution landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive North America marketing strategy aligned with enterprise growth objectives.

  • Serve as a senior marketing advisor to business leadership teams across Institutional, Wealth, and Canada.

  • Partner closely with Product, Distribution, Client Services, Communications, Digital, and Global Marketing teams to ensure integrated go-to-market execution.

  • Translate business priorities into scalable marketing programs that drive awareness, engagement, lead generation, and client retention.

  • Establish marketing priorities, resource allocation, and investment decisions across the region.

Audience and Segment Marketing
  • Lead marketing strategies for institutional investors, financial advisors, intermediaries, consultants, retirement platforms, and other key distribution channels.

  • Ensure audience-specific messaging, content, campaigns, and experiences are tailored to the unique needs of each market segment.

  • Provide strategic guidance on positioning, value proposition development, and competitive differentiation.

  • Support the launch and growth of investment strategies, solutions, and product offerings across North America.

Omnichannel Marketing Excellence
  • Lead the development and execution of integrated omnichannel marketing programs across digital, content, email, web, social media, paid media, events, and sales enablement channels.

  • Drive marketing innovation through data-driven audience segmentation, personalization, marketing automation, and customer journey optimization.

  • Partner with digital and analytics teams to improve campaign effectiveness, lead quality, and marketing attribution.

  • Ensure marketing programs are measurable, scalable, and aligned with commercial outcomes.

Events and Client Engagement
  • Oversee the regional strategy for client and prospect events, conferences, sponsorships, webinars, and executive engagement programs.

  • Ensure events support business development objectives and deliver exceptional client experiences.

  • Collaborate with sales and client-facing teams to maximize engagement opportunities and business impact.

Team Leadership and Talent Development
  • Lead and develop a high-performing North America marketing organization of approximately 10 professionals.

Performance Management and Measurement
  • Establish clear KPIs and measurement frameworks tied to business growth objectives.

  • Deliver regular executive-level reporting on marketing effectiveness, business impact, and return on investment.

  • Manage regional marketing budgets and resources to maximize efficiency and outcomes.

Qualifications
Required Experience
  • 15+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience within asset management, wealth management, investment management, financial services, or related industries.

  • Demonstrated expertise marketing to both institutional and wealth management audiences.

  • Significant experience leading integrated omnichannel marketing programs across digital and traditional channels.

  • Proven success developing and executing client and prospect engagement strategies, including large-scale events and conferences.

  • Experience leading high-performing teams and managing multiple senior-level direct reports.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and business leaders.

  • Deep understanding of investment products, capital markets, distribution channels, and client decision-making processes.

  • Strong knowledge of CRM interactions between Salesforce and Marketo.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience marketing ETFs and related investment vehicles.

  • Experience operating within a global asset management organization.

  • Familiarity with consultant relations, intermediary distribution, retirement, OCIO, and institutional sales models.

  • Experience leveraging marketing technology, CRM, marketing automation, and advanced analytics platforms.
