Position Title: Investment Analyst

Company: The Molpus Woodlands Group, LLC

Industry: Timberland Management

Min Education: B.S. Forestry, Finance or Business Management/Administration

Min Experience: 5+ Years preferred

Location: Negotiable; Ridgeland, MS or Bay Minette, AL preferred

Required Travel: 15% +

POSITION SUMMARY:

This Investment Analyst position will be directly involved in acquisition, optimization and disposition of timberland properties to be acquired or currently managed by Molpus. The position will collaborate with departments across the company.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conduct financial modeling and valuation analysis to support our acquisitions team, real estate and renewables team, operations team and client services team. Financial, operational, environmental and other analyses of individual properties and portfolios. Support the asset valuation, assessment and optimization of individual properties and portfolios. Analyze and track trends in timberland markets. Support of specific process improvement and other cross-business initiatives. Prepare investment committee materials, client reports, and related documentation.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA Degree in Forest Management, Forest Economics, Finance or Business Management/Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in investment analysis or management, including relevant experience with timberland, agriculture, natural resources or other real assets. Preferred 5+ years' experience.
  • Strong quantitative analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Business suite of programs (Excel, Word, Powerpoint), financial modeling, and data analysis. Experience with GIS systems (e.g., ArcGIS), Microsoft Access and data management programming language (SQL) is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Must be open to travel opportunities to various management regions for projects as they arise.

Must be a dependable team player with strong ethics.

Must be trained and experienced in typical workplace safety programs and be committed to positively addressing unsafe behaviors and situations encountered in the workplace.
