Job description

Retail Inventory Manager

Wee Chic, Inc. (WCI) is seeking an experienced retail operations professional to lead inventory flow, receiving, stockroom operations, and merchandise organization across our growing boutique retail business.

If you currently work in retail operations, inventory, stockroom leadership, receiving, merchandising, or back-of-house management and are ready to bring your experience to a growing specialty retailer, we’d love to meet you.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows what it takes to keep a retail operation running smoothly behind the scenes. You understand that accurate inventory, an organized stockroom, efficient shipment processing, and strong merchandise flow directly impact sales and the client experience.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys creating order, improving processes, solving inventory challenges, and making sure merchandise gets where it needs to go—accurately and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

Inventory, Receiving & Merchandise Flow

·      Lead the receiving, verification, and processing of incoming merchandise, ensuring accuracy from shipment arrival through sales-floor placement.

·      Maintain strong inventory control procedures and help identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.

·      Coordinate cycle counts, stock audits, inventory adjustments, reorders, and replenishment.

·      Ensure merchandise is processed, ticketed, labeled, organized, and floor-ready according to company standards and turnaround goals.

·      Help ensure an accurate inventory.

Purchase Orders, Vendors & RTVs

·      Monitor and process purchase orders, receiving records, and related inventory documentation.

·      Identify and resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, shipments, and received merchandise.

·      Communicate with vendors regarding shipping discrepancies, damaged or incorrect merchandise, product concerns, and replenishment needs.

·      Manage Return to Vendor (RTV) processing, including documentation, tracking, and inventory adjustments.

·      Follow through on outstanding inventory and vendor issues through resolution.

Stockroom & Operational Leadership

·      Own stockroom organization and workflow, creating systems that make merchandise easy to locate, process, replenish, and sell.

·      Establish and maintain clear standards for labeling, ticketing, product organization, and inventory storage.

·      Keep merchandise moving efficiently between receiving department and the selling floors.

·      Support seasonal transitions, including markdowns, product moves, inventory updates, and remerchandising.

·      Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce errors, and improve operational efficiency.

·      Partner with store leadership to maintain organized, efficient day-to-day operations.

Merchandising & Store Support

·      Support visual merchandising and product placement, helping maintain organized, attractive, and shop-ready selling floors.

·      Ensure pricing, signage, displays, and merchandise presentation remain accurate and current.

·      Maintain operational standards that allow our sales teams to spend more time serving clients and less time searching for or managing merchandise.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced in Retail Operations

You have hands-on experience in apparel, accessories, specialty retail, department stores, or another softlines retail environment.

Experience in areas such as inventory control, receiving, shipment processing, stockroom operations, merchandising, replenishment, or retail operations management is especially valuable.

  • Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented

You notice when something is out of place. You enjoy creating systems, maintaining organization, and making sure inventory and operational details are accurate.

Operationally Minded

You don’t just complete a process—you think about how to make it better. You naturally look for opportunities to improve efficiency, prevent mistakes, and keep merchandise moving.

  • Comfortable Taking Ownership

You can work independently, prioritize competing needs, follow issues through to completion, and take responsibility for maintaining high operational standards.

Collaborative Communicator

You’ll work closely with store leadership, buyers, vendors, our web team, and sales teams, so clear communication and strong follow-through are important.

  • Comfortable With Retail Data

You can use inventory information, sales trends, and operational reporting to identify issues and make better merchandising and inventory decisions.

  • Ready for a Hands-On Role

This is an active retail operations position. You should be comfortable working on your feet and lifting and moving merchandise up to 50 lbs. as needed.

Why Join Wee Chic?

Bring Your Retail Experience Somewhere It Matters

This isn’t a large corporate environment where operations happen several layers away from decision-making. Your work has a visible impact on our stores, our team, and our clients.

Grow With the Business

As WCI grows, so can your role. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate with purchasing, merchandising, marketing, e-commerce, store leadership, and company leadership, expanding your experience beyond traditional store operations.

Autonomy & Impact

We value people who see opportunities and take ownership. You’ll have the ability to improve systems, solve problems, and help shape how our retail operations evolve.

Positive, Professional Culture

Join a team that values collaboration, accountability, efficiency, and work-life balance.
