Job description

Eagle Distributing is seeking an experienced Manager to lead and direct all inventory and receiving activities. 

The Inventory & Receiving Manager leads and manages inventory control, and has the operational responsibility for receiving inbound products, storing and rotating them to ensure product availability and freshness, and ensuring adequate and timely replenishment of the primary pick area to support the picking function. 

The primary inventory duties for this position are to conduct a daily physical count of all inventoried items and then to perform a reconciliation of that physical count to the perpetual inventory’s computerized records.  A daily report of the inventory and any inventory issues must be submitted to the owners and management team.  Other inventory duties include:

  • Verification of breakage, returns and repackaging
  • Data entry to adjust the perpetual inventory based on reconciliation results
  • Management of individuals involved in the physical counting process
  • Data entry of new products into the inventory and voice-pick systems
  • Assignment of slots for all products and verification of slot/item accuracy

The primary receiving duties for this position are to coach and manage Receiving Crew Members as they perform their work of unloading deliveries, verifying accuracy of deliveries, identifying and isolating broken or damaged products, placing products in the warehouse and rotating products within the warehouse.  The Inventory & Receiving Manager is responsible for assigning a location within the warehouse for all received products.  Other receiving duties include:

  • Adjustments to the bill of lading for missing and/or incorrect products
  • Collection of evidence of discrepancies for billing adjustments
  • Submission of claims for any mis-shipments and/or damage received
  • Assistance with the resolution of billing discrepancies through cooperation with the accounting department
  • Verification that product rotation procedures are being followed, and identification of any gaps

In addition, the Inventory & Receiving Manager will directly supervise the Replenishment team and will ensure that the primary pick area is fully stocked and has properly-marked slots that are properly registered in the voice pick system to facilitate efficient and accurate picking. 

General duties include:

  • Compliance with safety and cleanliness standards within the receiving area
  • Operation of forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment as needed
  • Assistance to the Warehouse Manager with staffing to include interviewing, hiring and training
  • Participation in Warehouse team efforts to improve processes, eliminate waste, increase quality and reduce costs
  • Maintenance of computerized and paper records
  • Awareness and facilitation of loss prevention, security and safety

This is a full-time regular position, Monday through Friday, with hours approximately 4 a.m. until job completion.  You are expected to stay until the work is completed. 

Education:      High school graduate, college degree preferred

Experience:

  • 5 years or more experience in warehouse operations
  • 3 years of supervisory experience
  • 2 years of inventory experience

Skills:

  • Proficient computer user, with strong capabilities in Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and clearly define objectives
  • Ability to execute plan under time restraint
  • Ability to set directions, lead by example for team achievement
  • Ability to recognize and correct areas of concern
  • Able to work flexible hours when needed to meet business requirements

  • Able to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel and management
