Job description

Sr. Inventory Manager

Own the Inventory. Protect the Business. Drive Global Performance.

The Role

At Plexus, inventory is more than products on a shelf; it's the foundation of delivering an exceptional experience to our Brand Ambassadors and customers around the world.

As the Senior Inventory Manager, you will own the global inventory control framework, governance, and performance across our internal distribution network and third-party logistics partners. You'll establish the standards, processes, and discipline that ensure inventory can be trusted, from receiving through fulfillment, transfers, and financial reporting.

This is a highly visible leadership role for someone who thrives on solving complex operational challenges, building scalable processes, and influencing cross-functional teams. You'll partner closely with Supply Chain, Distribution, Finance, Quality, Technology, Buyers, and our global 3PL partners, serving as the organization's subject-matter expert on inventory management and NetSuite.

If you're the type of leader who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, digging into data, identifying root causes, and building better systems that scale, we'd love to meet you.

Employee Value Proposition

This is an opportunity to build and elevate the global inventory management capability of an established gut health company operating across multiple international markets. You'll have the autonomy to establish best practices, improve global inventory controls, influence how NetSuite supports inventory operations, and solve problems that directly impact customer experience, financial performance, and operational excellence.

Working alongside senior leaders across Supply Chain, Finance, Technology, Distribution, and Quality, your work will shape how Plexus manages inventory across multiple countries and third-party logistics providers.

This isn't simply maintaining inventory.

It's building the inventory organization that our future growth depends on.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Establish a clear baseline for inventory accuracy, aging inventory, transaction backlogs, reconciliation issues, and control gaps across all global distribution locations in the first 90 days.
  • Develop and execute an inventory stabilization strategy that eliminates legacy discrepancies while improving transactional discipline and operational accuracy.
  • Standardize cycle counting, reconciliations, transfers, adjustments, product holds, disposition processes, and lot/expiration controls across the global network.
  • Improve physical-to-system inventory accuracy while ensuring material discrepancies are investigated, documented, and resolved within defined service levels.
  • Build executive inventory dashboards and KPIs that provide visibility into inventory accuracy, adjustments, write-offs, unavailable inventory, cycle-count performance, and corrective actions.
  • Strengthen month-end close, audit readiness, reserve management, and financial controls through close partnership with Finance and Quality.
  • Hold third-party logistics providers accountable through performance metrics, service expectations, and structured corrective action plans.
  • Become the organization's trusted NetSuite inventory expert while mentoring the Supply Chain Operations Coordinator and elevating inventory discipline across the business.

Performance Accountabilities

Build World-Class Inventory Controls

  • Own global inventory accuracy and integrity across Plexus-operated and third-party distribution centers.
  • Develop inventory governance, policies, standards, and internal controls that improve accuracy and reduce operational risk.
  • Standardize cycle-counting programs, physical inventories, reconciliation processes, and inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure inventory transactions are accurately reflected across NetSuite, warehouse management systems, and 3PL platforms.
  • Maintain robust controls for lot tracking, expiration dates, FIFO/FEFO inventory management, quarantined inventory, and product status.

Drive Inventory Performance

  • Establish meaningful KPIs that measure inventory accuracy, shrinkage, adjustments, aging inventory, reconciliation performance, and unavailable inventory.
  • Lead investigations into inventory discrepancies by identifying root causes, implementing corrective actions, and preventing recurrence.
  • Provide executive leadership with clear reporting on inventory risks, financial exposure, and operational performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics providers to continuously improve inventory performance.

Optimize Inventory Flow

  • Oversee inventory transfers between facilities while ensuring proper authorization, documentation, and reconciliation.
  • Partner with Planning, Buyers, and Distribution to balance inventory across the global network.
  • Support new product launches, product transitions, recalls, quality holds, and inventory disposition activities.
  • Ensure purchase order updates and inventory documentation remain accurate and timely.

Leverage Technology

  • Serve as the business owner for inventory processes within NetSuite and connected warehouse systems.
  • Partner with Technology teams and external partners to improve system integrations, master data, and inventory visibility.
  • Develop meaningful inventory reporting that enables informed business decisions and continuous improvement.

Lead Through Collaboration

  • Coach, mentor, and develop the Supply Chain Operations Coordinator while establishing clear performance expectations.
  • Build strong partnerships across Supply Chain, Finance, Procurement, Distribution, Quality, Technology, Customer Service, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Support occasional after-hours activities during physical inventories, operational issues, or critical business events.

 Performance Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations, finance, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 7 years of inventory control, supply chain, distribution, or related experience, including 3 years of leadership responsibility.
  • Improved inventory accuracy across multiple distribution centers and third-party logistics providers through disciplined controls and standardized processes.
  • Built inventory management programs that reduced discrepancies, strengthened financial controls, and improved operational performance.
  • Led successful cycle count and physical inventory programs that consistently delivered accurate, audit-ready inventory records.
  • Resolved complex inventory issues through root-cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
  • Developed inventory KPIs and executive reporting that drove informed business decisions and increased accountability.
  • Leveraged ERP systems, preferably NetSuite, and warehouse management systems to improve inventory visibility and transaction accuracy.
  • Partnered across Supply Chain, Finance, Quality, Technology, Buyers, and 3PL partners to solve operational challenges and improve inventory performance.
  • Led and developed high-performing teams while creating a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Used data to anticipate inventory risks, improve decision-making, and deliver measurable business results.
