Job description

Inventory Control Material Handler

The Inventory Control Material Handler is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy by repairing and repacking damaged cases, operating a forklift and other material handling equipment to move products safely throughout the warehouse, loading and unloading trailers containing expired or damaged products, performing physical inventory counts, and maintaining an organized work environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, load, unload, and store products throughout the warehouse.
  • Repair damaged cases in the designated graveyard area and repack products as needed.
  • Conduct daily inspections of warehouse racks to identify damaged or broken cases and repair products whenever possible in their storage locations.
  • Perform the physical destruction of bonded expired or damaged products under the supervision of U.S. Customs.
  • Destroy tax-paid expired or damaged products and drain expired kegs in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Receive, inspect, and put away products returned by customers or canceled from customer orders.
  • Load and unload trailers and containers containing damaged, expired, or returned products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company housekeeping and safety standards.
  • Assist with inventory verification by identifying, researching, and correcting inventory discrepancies.
  • Participate in physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory audits to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Accurately record inventory movements and complete required documentation using handheld RF devices and warehouse management systems, as applicable.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and OSHA guidelines while performing assigned duties.
  • Perform other related warehouse duties and special projects assigned.

Education/Experience Required:

High School diploma or equivalent is preferred. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. May require 0-1 year of general work experience utilizing machinery of some type.

Keyboard or Computer Skills – Experience using handheld scanning devices (R F Smart).
