Job description

The MRB Inventory Planner is responsible for the analysis, control, and disposition of non-conforming, excess, and slow-moving inventory across the organization's supply chain network. This role partners closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain Planning teams to drive timely resolution of Material Review Board (MRB) inventory while minimizing operational disruption, inventory exposure, and working capital impact.

The position serves as a key operational partner to Senior Supply Chain Planners and Distribution Planners by delivering inventory analysis, supply risk insights, disposition recommendations, and material availability updates that support continuity of supply and inventory optimization initiatives. The role owns MRB-related inventory processes, ensures ERP data integrity, and drives continuous improvement in inventory health, material flow, and supplier-related quality performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manage and control MRB inventory activities including identification, segregation, tracking, and disposition of non-conforming materials in partnership with SQE to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance with quality procedures.
  • Develop, track, and report report key MRB metrics including aging inventory, disposition cycle time, inventory exposure, recovery yield, supplier defect trends, and inventory reserve impacts; identify opportunities for continuous improvement across inventory control processes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional disposition activities with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement teams to expedite rework, scrap, return-to-vendor (RTV), or alternate use decisions while minimizing operational and financial impact.
  • Collaborate with Senior Supply Chain Planners and Distribution Planners by providing material availability analysis, shortage risk identification, recovery projections, and planning inputs to support demand.
  • Partner with Supplier Quality Engineers and Supply Chain teams to support supplier performance management initiatives, including data collection, analysis, and development of supplier Quality Business Reviews (QBRs) related to defects, returns, and corrective actions.
  • Maintain ERP and inventory data integrity through accurate transaction management, inventory reconciliation, root cause analysis, and ongoing monitoring of inventory movements, locations, and planning parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business or technical degree with equivalent business experience
  • 3+ years' experience in supply chain and inventory planning
  • Experience leading SIOP processes and coordinating supply plans with supply chain partners.
  • Experience working with business-system based demand forecasting, supply planning, and inventory visualization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with internal and external partners at various levels of the organization.
  • Strong operational and financial analytical skills
  • Strong predictive analytical skills in demand, supply and inventory modeling.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Med-Tech Products
  • MBA
  • Experience implementing business-systems, supply plans, and inventory visualization tools.
