Job description

Position Summary:

The 1st shift QC Auditor (Quality Control Auditor) is responsible for ensuring product quality, freshness, integrity, and specification compliance throughout warehouse and operational areas. This role conducts product inspections, quality audits, and review processes to help maintain company quality standards, food safety requirements, and customer expectations.

The QC Auditor works closely with warehouse operations, inventory control, receiving, and leadership teams to identify quality concerns, document findings, and support corrective actions in a fast-paced food distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

Inspect products for quality, freshness, grade, labeling, condition, and specification compliance.

Conduct quality audits using established company quality classifications, inspection standards, and operational procedures.

Identify damaged, expired, contaminated, or non-compliant products and remove or isolate product as required.

Document quality findings accurately and communicate concerns appropriately to leadership and operational teams.

Transfer defective or questionable products through designated review.

Verify product rotation practices and monitor inventory for freshness and shelf-life compliance.

Utilize handheld scanners, RF devices, and warehouse systems to complete quality inspections and audit documentation.

Investigate product quality discrepancies and assist with follow-up review activities.

Support compliance with GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.

Maintain accurate audit records, quality reports, and operational documentation.

Partner with warehouse teams to address product quality concerns and support corrective actions.

Assist with facility readiness for audits, inspections, and operational reviews.

Maintain cleanliness and organization within assigned quality control and warehouse areas.

Follow all workplace safety procedures and properly utilize required PPE.

Perform additional quality control and operational duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Prior quality control, warehouse, food distribution, logistics, or auditing experience preferred.

Basic computer, scanner, and data entry skills preferred.

Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Basic understanding of food safety and quality standards preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and move products within company established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, or varying warehouse temperature environments depending on operational assignment.

Ability to safely operate warehouse tools, RF scanners, and related equipment as trained.

Work Environment:
