Job description

Shape Every Count. Power a Food Supply Chain.

Join a growing food manufacturer in Niles, IL and become the steady hand that keeps warehouse inventory precise. In this role, you’ll spend your day safeguarding stock accuracy, partnering with warehouse and production teams, and ensuring that every ingredient and finished product is exactly where it should be.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Starting pay: $20.00 per hour
  • Shift: 1st Shift, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Pay frequency: Weekly
  • Status: Full-time, long-term opportunity
A Day in the Life

Start your morning confirming that raw and packaging materials match the system. Move through aisles, verify locations, weigh and label items, and reconcile counts for finished goods and any non-conforming inventory. When numbers don’t line up, you’ll dive into the system to investigate transactions, document discrepancies, and flag issues to supervisors—then help pinpoint the root cause so it doesn’t happen again. You’ll collaborate with receiving on put-aways, transfer materials to production, and safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks as needed. Throughout the day, you’ll maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace, breaking down boxes and pallets to maximize space—and you’ll always wear required PPE.

What You’ll Tackle
  • Perform daily cycle counts across raw, packaging, finished goods, and non-conforming inventory.
  • Use inventory software to post counts, review on-hand levels, and investigate variances.
  • Confirm proper bin locations; find and correct misplaced inventory.
  • Count, weigh, and label products to keep records accurate.
  • Report discrepancies, damage, and variances; support root-cause analysis and process improvements.
  • Assist with receiving, put-away, and warehouse-to-production material moves.
  • Break down boxes/pallets to optimize space.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and related equipment safely.
  • Uphold food safety and company safety procedures; wear PPE at all times.
  • Pitch in for overtime or weekend work when needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year in warehousing, shipping/receiving, or inventory control; prior cycle counting experience preferred.
  • Forklift experience preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail; strong organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable with computers, Microsoft Office, and inventory systems.
  • Effective English communication skills; solid basic math (measurements, percentages, ratios).
  • Ability to lift, move, and organize materials; dependable attendance; works well independently and on a team.
  • Willing to work overtime and weekends as required by the business.
Why You’ll Like It Here
  • Weekly pay
  • Positive, supportive team culture
  • Opportunity to grow with a stable, long-term employer
