This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will support the design, development, and fabrication of space launch vehicles and components to support human spaceflight programs. This is a hands-on position that requires strong communication, organization, planning, and project management skills. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention toward safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate manufacturing schedule and coordinate the availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements
  • Performs shop order release/closure in the MRP System and reconciles parts
  • Provide detailed status of work in progress, and material availability, and communicate constraints to schedule
  • Prepare work orders for the production of parts based on the master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
  • Coordinate interdepartmental activity with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program.
  • Schedule and expedite the movement of parts using move orders, stock transfers, and requests for shipping orders
  • Work cross-functionally to expedite any material shortages with procurement, receiving, quality, and other production areas
  • Implement material stocking strategy on production lines, monitor, control and maintain proper floor stock
  • Control the proper access and consumption of material in manufacturing - custodian of the cash
  • Monitor the flow/velocity of jobs through the production line and partner with Production to ensure work is completed on time to schedule.
  • Enter material transactions in the ERP system
  • Prepare reports and note shortages/damage
  • Process Scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations as required.
  • Work with Production and Materials teams to resolve part discrepancies
  • May be required to interface with departments throughout the company
  • Must possess good organizational skills, the ability to work well with others, good decision-making skills, and the ability to think outside the box

Qualifications:
  • 3 + years of production planning or supply chain experience
  • Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
  • Experience with activities related to planning and/or scheduling
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team
  • Excellent computer skills with MS Office, ERP experience with MRP execution desired.
  • Excellent written /verbal communication skills

Desired:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree
  • SQL or Advanced Excel Experience
  • Flexible to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends and travel on occasion
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and management and customer decisions
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc)
  • Strong interpersonal skills including excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
