Job description

Warehouse - Inventory Lead

The Warehouse - Inventory Lead position is one that wears numerous hats at Westrock Coffee. This individual is responsible for maintaining the organization of our warehouse area. The main objectives for this function are to physically and systematically provide our production teams with the materials they need and our distribution team with the finished product they need uninterruptedly. The Inventory Lead provides tactical leadership to the team and ensures they properly operate equipment from a safety, quality, and efficient perspective. The Lead serves as the subject matter expert and is responsible for ensuring daily goals are met. The Warehouse - Inventory Lead position reports to the Inventory Supervisor. This position will receive daily supervision and instruction from their Supervisor and the Director of Operations.

Job Duties:

  • Interpret the production schedule and use that knowledge to calculate and submit material requests via an ERP system to our distribution center in order to have materials arrive at the manufacturing facility at an appropriate time.
  • Conduct cycle counts of various inventory as directed by either the Inventory Supervisor or Director of Operations.
  • Organize and coordinate returns of any leftover packaging materials after production runs are concluded.
  • Use FIFO when pulling materials by "lot" number for traceability
  • Maintain organization of raw materials and finished goods in the warehouse.
  • Receive purchase orders in ERP system and processes paperwork associated with them to the expectations of Compliance and Accounting teams' needs.
  • Manage small transportation team and instructs them of any unordinary tasks they need to complete. De facto supervisor of our small transportation fleet and warehouse team.
  • Communicate with manufacturing, distribution, and supply chain management teams regularly regarding non-conforming product and other urgent matters.
  • Execute inventory transactions in ERP system as needed.
  • Operate a forklift in a safe and proficient manner.
  • Perform all duties and actions in a safe manner and continuously monitor areas to ensure that safety procedures are being followed.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, safety and GMP requirements.
  • Assists in ensuring daily goals are met.
  • Conducts daily team meetings with Operators and team members.
  • Responsible for continuing education on all pieces of equipment when opportunities present themselves.
  • Serves as backup to the Supervisor, communicating workload or changes to the floor personnel schedules and ensuring that all operations run smoothly.
  • Takes an active role in the shift transition period to ensure smooth and efficient transition of shift personnel.
  • Assists with breaks and lunches to ensure machines are running at peak performance for the full production shift.
  • Willingness to work holidays occasionally due to production demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of inventory control experience
  • Forklift certified with 1+ years of experience
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow safety regulations
  • Able to effectively communicate ideas (verbally and in writing), be a self-starter and handle difficult situations.
  • Attention to detail while maintaining alertness, professionalism, and honesty
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • 2+ years leadership or management experience is preferred
  • Experience with Oracle's NetSuite ERP system
  • Intermediate Computer skills
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
