Job Summary
As a Procurement Chef, you will support Food & Nutrition Services for a 349-bed hospital by overseeing purchasing, inventory management, and floor stock operations. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will lead a team of associates and partner with other department leaders to ensure products and supplies are available to support patient dining, retail, and catering operations while maintaining quality and cost controls.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage food, beverage, and supply ordering for the department.
  • Oversee inventory, floor stock, receiving, and storeroom operations.
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for procurement and inventory functions.
  • Monitor food costs, inventory usage, and purchasing trends to support budget goals.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and leadership team on menus, product sourcing, and operational initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
  • Support new programs and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of culinary, purchasing, inventory, or foodservice management experience.
  • Healthcare, hospital, or high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement, inventory control, and food cost management.
  • Previous leadership experience managing and developing teams.
  • Proficiency with inventory systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
