Job description

A Day in the Life:

As a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC), you will be responsible for overseeing all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring that all merchandise delivered to the store is checked, accounted for, and brought out to the floor. You will walk the entire store daily to scan DSD and address areas of under or over ordering and/or out of stock conditions. Your role will involve communicating with the Store Director, order writers, night crew employees, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. You will be knowledgeable about weekly ads and DSD displays, monitor donations, and be responsible for grocery and non-perishable inventories. Additionally, you will maintain backroom security, cleanliness, and organization, ensuring all equipment works properly.

  • Customer Service Skills: Prior customer service skills or related experience.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to maintain cleanliness, security, and organization of the backroom area.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to monitor all damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and returns for credit.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge, including email, Excel, and store portal.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to solve problems, make decisions, and work independently.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to interact with vendors, delivery drivers, customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry 5-50 lbs, push/pull 10-50 lbs products, and stand/walk continuously.
