Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a Quality Control & Receiving Associate for a direct hire opportunity in Kent, OH. This role is ideal for a detail-driven manufacturing professional who enjoys hands-on inspection work, accurate receiving processes, and supporting product quality from incoming materials through final packaged goods.
The Quality Control & Receiving Associate will work closely with production, purchasing, and inventory teams to verify materials, identify non-conformances, document inspection results, and help maintain a clean, organized, and compliant operation. Key Responsibilities
- Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for quantity, product type, condition, and accuracy.
- Inspect raw materials, components, packaging supplies, labels, inserts, part numbers, and finished packaged products for quality and specification compliance.
- Document received goods, inspection results, discrepancies, deviations, and corrective actions according to company procedures.
- Coordinate with purchasing, suppliers, and production teams to resolve shortages, damaged goods, quality issues, and non-conforming materials.
- Maintain organized records for inventory accuracy, audits, certifications, traceability, and compliance requirements.
- Follow safety, housekeeping, quality, and production standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

- Perform receiving inspections and verify incoming shipments for accuracy, condition, and compliance.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections of packaged products and production materials.
- Document inspection results, measurement data, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Support communication between production, purchasing, inventory, and supplier contacts to resolve quality and receiving issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 6-10 years of relevant experience in quality control, receiving, inventory management, manufacturing, or a related production environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, product specifications, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
- Skilled in using inspection and measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, protractors, and alignment tools.
- Understanding of quality management systems, inspection processes, documentation standards, and non-conformance reporting.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects, inconsistencies, damage, and specification issues.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accurate data entry for inventory, quality, and receiving records.
- Effective communication, organization, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Ability to lift up to at least 50 lbs., stand, walk, move materials throughout the shift, and perform detailed visual inspections.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or technical certification in quality, manufacturing, logistics, or a related field.
- Experience in a packaging or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems.
- Familiarity with CAPA processes, audit documentation, traceability requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
