Inventory Manager & Retail Operations

Dock Square Clothiers — Kennebunkport, Maine
Full-Time | Year-Round | $55,000 Annual Salary + Bonus Opportunities

About Dock Square Clothiers

Established in 1981, Dock Square Clothiers is a well-established specialty clothing retailer located in the heart of Kennebunkport, Maine. We are seeking an experienced, organized, and dependable professional to join our team in a full-time, year-round Inventory Management and Retail Operations position.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has significant experience managing large retail inventories and is also comfortable taking on a broad range of responsibilities involved in the day-to-day operation of a successful retail business.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory across the retail operation.
  • Oversee receiving, processing, tagging, pricing, organization, and movement of merchandise.
  • Monitor inventory levels and help identify overstock, shortages, discrepancies, and replenishment needs.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate product and inventory information within our point-of-sale and inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate merchandise transfers and inventory movement as needed.
  • Work closely with ownership and management on purchasing, merchandise planning, and inventory control.
  • Assist with merchandising and maintaining an organized, attractive sales floor.
  • Participate in day-to-day retail operations and provide support wherever needed.
  • Assist customers and provide a high level of customer service when necessary.
  • Help train and support retail staff on inventory procedures and operational standards.
  • Take on additional administrative, operational, and retail responsibilities based on the needs of the business.

Qualifications

Prior experience managing large inventories is required.

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Strong retail inventory management and organizational experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with retail POS and inventory management systems.
  • Strong computer and general technology skills.
  • The ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
