The Import Sales and Operations Planner reports to the Director of Sales, Operations, and Planning and is responsible for leading overall demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management processes. Plays a key part in facilitating the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycle, aligning demand and supply plans, and optimizing inventory levels to achieve customer service and cost objectives at the EDC for Imported Instruments and Kitting cell. Responsible for high levels of data accuracy and analysis to align demand and supply plans. Oversee production planning at the EDC. Support root cause analysis and implementation of strategies with site MES & ERP/MRP.  Focus on order planning, PO delivery, and inventory control.


Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and release work orders and purchase orders based on Master Production Schedule & MRP recommendations.
  • Support Production Scheduling through visual systems, MRP, and Shop Floor Control.
  • Liaison for sales to set priorities and align export product deliveries to meet customer timelines.
  • Analyze MRP and purchase plans based on system recommendation.
  • D365 liaison for implementation of ERP.
  • Review and analyze the forecast demand versus actual demand, understanding changes and trends.
  • Measure, control, and improve S&OP plan accuracy at plant through clearly defined metrics
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Coordinate with S&OP Manager for open order fulfillment and implement & manage planning process for Import Team.
  • Analyze capacity plans to ensure plants can meet sales forecasts and demand in production planning and execution.
  • Focus on order planning, inventory control, and delivery.
  • Analyze production capacity and adapt schedules to meet customer needs and optimize utilization
  • Analyze and interpret supply chain data such as SIOP, shipments, and delivery times, costs, and inventory levels.
  • Facilitate Schedule Attainment and Schedule Conformance meeting cadence for EDC.
  • Communicate production changes, deviations from schedule, and updates to all stakeholders.
  • Assist with data analysis for materials, operations, and engineering groups to ensure effectiveness of processes, reduce costs, and management inventory
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures & Operational Plans
  • Collect and interpret analytical and performance data
  • Liaison for delivery status updates to Sales, Customer Service, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of any stock out situations in the plant form a purchasing standpoint.


Requirements:
  • 4-year supply chain, commercial operations, IT, or business management degree preferred
  • Working knowledge of MES systems
  • Understands the concept of Bills of Materials, Material Orders/Work Orders executed within a manufacturing environment. Understand use of MRP in production planning.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or other materials management systems- experience with Dynamics 365, Infor, and AS400 is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL, Excel Queries & Formulas, and Power BI is a plus.
  • Experience in LEAN and Six Sigma techniques and practices is a plus.
  • Excellent Communication skills, verbal and written expected.
  • Requires repetitive upper body movement – keyboard and monitor use
