Primary Objective:  In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

To safely, accurately, and efficiently handle various types of products for the purpose of receiving, locating, shipping, and/or keeping operations running. Product may include roll goods, packages, cartons or palletized items.

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

  • Must be able to perform the duties of a Material Handler I plus the following:
    • Change propane and batteries on Lift Trucks
    • Complete daily Vehicle Condition Report on Lift Trucks
    • Print pull sheets for orders using the established priorities for finish dates and pull materials indicated on "pull sheet"
    • Load product on the trucks or stage products at appropriate locations
    • May act as a Checker - verifying the product pulled against the Pull Sheet for accuracy
    • May interact with customers and handle customer pick up orders
    • Document and maintain inventory
    • Perform Pre-shift PIT Inspection
    • Create color card with each lot/color being used in the workorder and match to the standard go-by
  • May be required to operate powered industrial trucks/equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, etc.
  • Attend any job-related training deemed necessary by supervision
  • Follow all established standard operating and safety procedures as well as company policies
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as necessary
  • Perform other tasks assigned by management

Type of Experience and Knowledge:

Knowledge, Experience, Certifications: Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Lift Truck Certification preferred
  • Successful completion of all required on the job training
  • Successful completion of all required health and environmental safety training
  • May be required to use department specific database systems such as: AS400
  • Reads and writes in standard English and proficient performing basic math calculations such as addition and subtraction

Competencies:  Describe the specific skills required for this position in terms of technical, managerial, interpersonal skills and unique abilities.

  • Operate in a team-based environment
  • Operate on-board RF equipment
  • Operate banding/wrapping materials and equipment
