Job description

Rio Power Management is seeking a Mechanical Draftsman with hands-on experience in SolidWorks or Inventor to join our engineering and production team. This role is responsible for creating structural and fabrication drawings for switchboards, panelboards, and MCC assemblies used in marine and industrial applications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks or Inventor.
  • Create structural layouts and frame drawings for switchboards and panelboards.
  • Prepare fabrication and assembly drawings with proper dimensions and tolerances.
  • Work with the engineering team to translate design concepts into manufacturable components.
  • Update and maintain drawing revisions and documentation.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and fabrication methods.
  • Experience generating structural or enclosure drawings for electrical panels or industrial equipment.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and incorporate mounting requirements.
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Prior experience in a switchgear, MCC, or electrical equipment manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
