Job description

Invenergy is North America's largest privately held developer, owner, and operator of power infrastructure. With 25 years of trusted execution, we deliver reliable, affordable energy through a diverse portfolio that includes natural gas, solar, land-based wind, energy storage, transmission, and domestic manufacturing. Headquartered in Chicago, we develop, own, and operate large scale projects that power communities and support the energy future.

Job Description

Position Overview

Asset management spans a wide range of activities all directed toward the same goal: safely maximizing the economic performance of a portfolio of operating assets in compliance with all applicable asset obligations. As Asset Manager, you will play an integral role in helping Invenergy achieve this goal.

Responsibilities

Finance:

  • Assist in developing annual budgets for the projects and perform periodic variance analyses
  • Provide input and review of the pro-forma financial models for generation assets
  • Author reports on project performance for investors and lenders
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and management
  • Perform financial analyses of aftermarket improvements
  • Develop other ad-hoc analyses as needed

Operations:

  • Collaborate with the operations engineering team to evaluate and improve operational performance
  • Coordinate with project O&M staff on other operational items, including major component repair and replacement
  • Participate in contract development with outside vendors, from soliciting quotes to participating in final contract negotiation
  • Support Invenergy's construction and development teams by tracking key pre-operations milestones and deliverables under power purchase agreements.
  • Support Invenergy's operations team by managing pre-operations deliverables under project operations agreements.

Regulatory and compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and project agreements including the Power Purchase Agreements, Operating Agreements, Credit Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, and Operations and Maintenance Agreements.
  • Lead dispute negotiations if they arise with contractual counterparts.
  • Provide execution oversight for regulatory compliance with respective agencies, such as NERC and FERC, and market compliance for relevant independent system operators
  • Negotiate contractual agreements with vendors and service providers for operational assets in order to minimize total operating cost.
  • Seek and execute on opportunities to increase the value of the assets

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience, including time in a relevant graduate program, in a similar function and industry, including but not limited to finance, accounting, FP&A, commercial management, project management, and consulting in industries such as energy, utilities, construction, manufacturing and real estate
  • Exceptional analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience creating and managing budgets and performing financial modeling.
  • Experience with standard financial metrics and analyses (NPV, IRR, DCF models)
  • Experience writing, negotiating, and managing contracts
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Some travel required.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred qualifications:

  • At least 5 years as a commercial asset manager of an operating portfolio of utility-scale wind, solar, or energy storage assets in the United States
  • Demonstrated track record of taking prompt action to identify and execute on opportunities, resolve issues, and mitigate risks
  • Experience managing at least one direct report
  • Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or Engineering, or another quantitative discipline

Base Pay

$124,000.00 - $160,000.00 USD Annual

Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
In addition to base pay, the total annual compensation package may also include eligibility to participate in our bonus program(s) which are designed to reward individual and company performance. Your recruiter can share more about bonus eligibility for this position during the hiring process.
