Job Description
Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist
Schedule:
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Call: Weeknights and weekends on rotation
Assignment Details:
- Average daily census: 15-20 patients
- Typical daily caseload: ~15 patients
Requirements:
- Licensure: GA or Compact license required
- Certifications: BLS; ARRT (R) required; ACLS, ARRT (VI), and advanced certifications preferred
- Experience: Minimum 2 years (1st-timers accepted); Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Unit-specific skills:
- Scrub and circulate IR procedures
- Endovascular interventions: angiography, angioplasty/stent placement, embolization, thrombectomy/thrombolysis
- Vascular devices: IVC filter placement/removal
- Access procedures: central venous/port placement, PICC care, dialysis graft interventions
- Biliary, nephrostomy, TIPS, biopsies, paracentesis/thoracentesis
- Sterile technique, room circulation, equipment setup
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and execution of interventional radiology and vascular procedures.
- Maintain a sterile field and support the procedural team by circulating and scrubbing during interventions.
- Manage patient care before, during, and after procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment required for interventional procedures.
Compliance / Notes:
- RTO: Max 7 days per contract; pre-approved time off: one.
- Orientation: Core items/labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
- Compliance documentation: Due by Tuesday prior to start.
- Holiday coverage: Expected to work major holidays that fall during the assignment.
