Trinity Health Livonia is a beautiful full-service, 304-bed acute care hospital, located in Livonia, MI, that provides comprehensive care, including a 24-hour emergency department, general medicine, inpatient and outpatient surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, intensive care unit, cancer, cardiology, geriatrics and birthing and women's health. Through several major expansions in the hospital, programs and services, St. Mary Mercy continues to offer the latest in quality health and medical services. SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse is accountable for the management of patient care during a designated timeframe. The responsibilities include coordination and evaluation of care, teaching and delegation of patient activities to the other health care team members via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, and the environment.
Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, the RN is accountable for direct patient care while in the Interventional Radiology department. This person is also involved in procedures for additional diagnostic areas as needed. This individual performs in a consultative role with physicians, radiologists and other radiological staff. This position recommends and follows established nursing practices of assessment, monitoring, intervention and teaching to maximize positive outcomes while minimizing complications. In addition, they assist the radiologist in a variety of invasive and noninvasive procedures including (but not limited to) kyphoplasty, fistulograms, permcaths, biopsies, filter placements, angioplasties, etc. Prepares patients for procedures, provides education and care according to age specific criteria. Prepares and starts intravenous injections and administers medications. Ensures the care, safety, comfort and satisfaction of the patient throughout the duration of their visit. Actively participates in a variety of operational and clinical activities to ensure department compliance with hospital and regulatory standards. Participates in emergency, off shift, on-call rotations to provide 24/7 coverage including weekends and holidays. Performs duties in accordance with the mission, vision and service excellence standards of the organization. This individual performs in a consultative role with physician radiologists and other radiological staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for new hires. Current RN licensure in the State of Michigan required. ACLS required, within 90 days of hire. BCLS required. Previous Emergency, Interventional, Cardiac Cath lab or CCU experience is preferred.
Must be self-starter and motivated.
Excellent communication skills.
Organized.
Must live within 30 min call back radius to hospital.
