Interventional Radiology Locums Opportunity

  • Location: Just Outside Nashville, TN
  • Duration: October–March (Potential to Extend)
  • Reason for Coverage: Support established IR group due to short staffing
  • Schedule: 1 week per month
  • Shift: 8:00 AM–8:00 AM (8:00 AM–5:00 PM onsite with night call Monday–Friday; 24-hour call Saturday–Sunday)
  • Scheduling Flexibility: Prefer 7-day blocks but will consider 5-day weekday-only blocks
  • Call: Unrestricted from hotel
  • Scope of Practice: 100% Interventional Radiology (No Diagnostic Reads)
  • Procedures Include:
    • Peripheral and visceral angiography/venography
    • Angioplasty, stenting, thrombectomy, thrombolysis
    • Embolization procedures (UAE, GI bleed, tumor, TIPS/portal interventions)
    • IVC filter placement/retrieval
    • Image-guided biopsies
    • Drainage procedures (abscess, biliary, nephrostomy, paracentesis, thoracentesis)
    • Gastrostomy tube placement
    • Lumbar punctures and myelograms
    • Vertebroplasty/Kyphoplasty
    • Pain injections
    • Central venous catheter and port placement/removal
    • Dialysis graft/fistula interventions
  • EMR: Cerner
  • Hospital: 300-bed Level II Trauma Center
  • Support: Advanced Practice Providers and 3 Interventional Radiologists
  • Requirements: Board Certified/Board Eligible in Radiology with IR fellowship (or equivalent qualifying experience), Tennessee or Compact license, and case logs from the past 12 months.
