Job description

Heavy-Duty Truck & Bus Detailer (Body Shop)

Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN
Company: I-State Truck Center
Pay Range: $18.00-$21.00/hour DOE
Shift: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Heavy-Duty Truck & Bus Detailer to join our Body Shop team in Inver Grove Heights, MN.

In this role, you will be responsible for thorough cleaning, detailing, and preparing heavy-duty trucks and buses following repair work to ensure vehicles are returned to customers in top condition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform full interior and exterior detailing of heavy-duty trucks, buses, and commercial vehicles
  • Wash, wax, buff, and polish vehicle exteriors to restore appearance after body repairs
  • Clean and vacuum cab interiors, including upholstery, dashes, and glass surfaces
  • Remove debris, dust, overspray, and residue from body shop repairs
  • Inspect finished vehicles for cleanliness, quality, and completeness prior to delivery
  • Move and stage vehicles safely within the shop and parking areas (as needed)
  • Maintain detailing equipment, supplies, and work area in a clean and organized manner
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Assist body shop technicians or team members with additional tasks as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous detailing, automotive, or body shop experience is a plus (but not required)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented shop environment
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required
  • Ability to safely operate trucks or willingness to learn
  • Physical ability to:
    • Stand for extended periods
    • Lift up to 50 lbs
    • Work in indoor/outdoor shop conditions



Preferred Skills

  • Experience with commercial or heavy-duty truck detailing
  • Familiarity with body shop processes or post-repair cleanup
  • Basic mechanical awareness of trucks or buses
