Position Summary
As a 1099 Contract Interpreter, you will play a vital role in supporting diverse communities by delivering on-site interpretation services in a variety of settings. This role offers flexible, per diem assignments with competitive pay, allowing you to build a rewarding and scalable career.
We are seeking reliable, professional, and detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about language access and communication. Candidates who are eager to expand their knowledge of medical and legal terminology will have opportunities for increased earnings and career growth.
Requirements
  • Provide accurate, on-site interpretation between English and your target language
  • Travel to client locations within a 30-mile radius
  • Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and appropriate tone during all assignments
  • Deliver clear and complete interpretation without omissions or additions
  • Follow all interpreter ethics standards, including those set by the IMIA (International Medical Interpreters Association), the National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC), the American Translators Association (ATA), the National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators (NAJIT), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Uphold principles of confidentiality, accuracy, impartiality, professionalism, and cultural competence in every assignment.
  • Respond promptly to scheduled assignments and communicate effectively with clients
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must reside within a 30-mile radius of Boston, MA
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally to assignments
  • Strong commitment to punctuality, preparation, and professionalism.
