Job description

GLOBO is looking for international qualified interpreters who want to help their community while enjoying a flexible work arrangement, such as telephonic interpreting (TI), video interpreting (VRI), and shift engagement (available based on the business needs).
You must reside outside of United States to be considered for this role.
This is an international position; therefore, you will work from your home office when providing remote interpreting services.
About the role:
As an International GLOBO Interpreter, you need to:
  • Represent GLOBO during remote/virtual encounters with the clients.
  • Render correct concepts and meanings between the speakers, maintaining correct grammar, clarity, and tone between languages.
  • Closely follow client instructions, professionally interject only when additional clarity or repetition is required, and manage the flow of the conversation.
  • Answer all client calls professionally, relaying the first name and interpreter ID for every call.
  • Always use polite forms of expression, enunciate clearly, and strive to provide legendary customer service, even in emotionally charged situations.
  • Conduct intake and pre-session scripting for each client.
  • Render correct concepts and meanings between the speakers, maintaining correct grammar, clarity, and tone between languages.

Technical Requirements for Remote Work (TI/VRI) are:
  • High-speed wired internet service with minimum download speeds of 10MB and upload speeds of at least 5MB.
  • A noise-canceling quality hardwired headset.
  • Computer/laptop device.
  • Webcam.
  • HIPAA-compliant workspace area with good lighting.
  • Solid background suitable for virtual calls.

Your Background and Experience:
  • Complete fluency in English in addition to your mother tongue.
  • Depending on the language pair, 2+ years of documented professional interpreting experience is desired.
  • Excellent cultural understanding and ability to clearly explain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication.
  • Medical terminology knowledge and the ability to reference medical glossaries during interpretation.
  • Training Program in the interpreting and/or language industry is a plus.
  • You must submit a translated copy of your criminal background report/clearance in the onboarding process.
