They are designed to help individuals gain hands-on skills, build professional networks, and enhance their resumes. Internships can be paid or unpaid and may be part-time or full-time, depending on the organization's needs and the intern's availability. Completing an internship can improve job prospects and help clarify career goals.

Tasks are typically assigned based on your area of study, interests, and skill level, and you may also have opportunities to shadow professionals, attend meetings, or contribute ideas. Interns usually receive guidance from a supervisor or mentor, and regular check-ins help ensure you're gaining valuable experience while contributing meaningfully to the team.

Full-time

Re-posted 2 days ago

Job description

Best Best & Krieger LLP is a nationally recognized law firm focused on delivering effective and client-service oriented solutions to complex legal issues facing public agencies, businesses and individuals across the U.S. BBK is proud to trace the firm's success back to the groundwork of professionalism and community service laid by its founders 135 years ago. Today, with nearly 250 attorneys in offices throughout California and in Oregon and Washington, D.C., we efficiently and meaningfully assist our clients with complex, multi-disciplinary issues and provide creative solutions.

At BBK, we place a high degree of value in creating and nurturing a work environment that attracts the best talent and reflects our commitment to culture, community and equal opportunity. We are proud of our workplace culture, where we respect and value our colleagues for their unique perspectives and experiences.

We have an immediate opening for an entry-level attorney to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney interested in developing a practice in municipal law and code enforcement. Prior experience or internships in public safety matters or civil and criminal prosecution is helpful but not required. The successful candidate will have strong legal research and writing skills, excellent communication abilities, sound judgment, and a desire to build a career serving public agency clients.

The attorney will work with experienced attorneys to handle code enforcement matters for our municipal clients, including case preparation, legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, court appearances, and client communication. Training and mentorship will be provided to support professional development.

This is a non-partnership-track position that requires travel to client offices and courts throughout California. Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California. The ideal candidate will be based in our Irvine, Ontario, Riverside, or Los Angeles office.

The reasonably expected pay scale for an attorney with 1-5 years of experience is $90,000 - $125,000.  The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate’s years of practice and experience.  We encourage all interested candidates to apply.

Best Best & Krieger is an equal opportunity employer.
