EDM Wire Operator
Job Summary
The EDM Wire Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring Mitsubishi wire EDM machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints and GD&T, and experience with precision measurement and machine setup.
Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate Mitsubishi wire EDM machines for prototype, low-volume, and production runs.
  • Load and secure workpieces, establish work offsets, and properly thread EDM wire.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T requirements.
  • Select appropriate cutting parameters based on material, thickness, geometry, and required tolerances.
  • Monitor machine operation and make adjustments to maintain part quality and production efficiency.
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machine issues, wire breaks, cutting problems, and dimensional discrepancies.
  • Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and housekeeping.
  • Maintain accurate production and inspection documentation.
  • Follow established safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, and other machining personnel to resolve production issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating EDM wire machines, preferably Mitsubishi.
  • CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain close attention to detail.
  • Experience in an ISO-certified or precision manufacturing environment is a plus.
Preferred Experience
  • Mitsubishi Wire EDM controls
  • CNC machining/setup

Pay Details: $20.00 to $30.00 per hour
