Job description

Clinical Neuropsychologist

The Neuropsychology Service at Premier Health is actively seeking adult-focused Clinical Neuropsychologists to join its multifaceted team of general and subspecialized Neuropsychologists, psychometrists, and clinical-researchers. The Neuropsychology Service at Premier Health, within the Department of Psychiatry, is an energetic practice that consistently maintains the highest volume of referrals in the area.

Premier Health is located in Dayton, OH, a city dedicated to fostering innovation in the neurosciences. For example, in 2018, Premier Health launched its Brain Mapping Center, the first neurosurgical subspecialty clinic of its kind in the Midwest, led by Neuropsychology.

Responsibilities

The successful candidates will play a vital role in providing neuropsychological services to adult outpatients dealing with a diverse range of medical and neurological conditions. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate within a multidisciplinary clinical-research framework that extends across the neurosciences, rehabilitation medicine, and academic partnerships with globally-recognized institutions. Our neuropsychologists publish regularly in high-impact-factor journals across the neurosciences, thus participation in ongoing scholarly activities is strongly encouraged. Additionally, grant-writing resources and seed-funding support opportunities exist to those wanting to investigate independently.

The Neuropsychologists at Premier Health have created and managed surgical programs and procedures, have won awards in Innovation in neuroscience, and continue to be an essential part of shaping the future of neuroscience in this region. The successful candidate will be joining a practice that includes 2 General Neuropsychologists, 1 Specialist Neuropsychologist (Neurosurgical Mapping), and 4+ psychometrists. There are abundant opportunities for educating the next generation of neuropsychologists, medical students, residents, and fellows across the neurosciences as well. Applicants with an interest in clinical training are strongly encouraged.

The Neuropsychologists are valued members of the Premier Health and general health community. Neuropsychologists who are interested in neurosurgery and surgical planning/mapping are encouraged to participate in multidisciplinary case conferences, with emphasis on Neuro-Oncology and Epilepsy.

Qualifications

Applicants must hold a doctorate degree in clinical psychology, have completed an APA-accredited clinical psychology internship, possess at least 2 years of post-doctoral training in neuropsychology consistent with the Houston Conference Guidelines, and be licensed or license eligible in Ohio.
