Internship Web Accessibility information

What is an internship web accessibility?

Internship Web Accessibility positions are entry-level roles designed for students or recent graduates interested in making websites and digital content accessible to people with disabilities. Interns in these positions learn about web accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and assist teams in testing and improving the accessibility of websites and apps. The role often includes tasks like auditing web pages, creating accessible content, and suggesting improvements. It's a great way to gain hands-on experience in inclusive design and the technical aspects of web development.

What types of projects and tasks can I expect to work on during a web accessibility internship?

As a Web Accessibility Intern, you will typically assist with evaluating websites and digital products for accessibility compliance using tools and manual testing methods. Your daily tasks may include identifying accessibility barriers, documenting issues, collaborating with developers and designers to implement solutions, and learning about standards such as WCAG. Interns often participate in team meetings, contribute to accessibility audits, and may help create educational materials or resources for staff. This hands-on experience provides valuable insight into both technical and user-centered aspects of digital accessibility.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an internship web accessibility specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive in an Internship Web Accessibility role, you need a foundational understanding of HTML, CSS, and web accessibility standards such as WCAG, often supported by coursework or certifications in accessibility. Familiarity with assistive technologies, accessibility testing tools like Axe or WAVE, and content management systems is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help interns collaborate with developers and advocate for accessible design. These skills and qualities ensure digital products are usable for all, comply with legal requirements, and provide a positive user experience.

Internship Web Accessibility positions are designed for students or recent graduates gaining initial experience, often with supervision. Web Accessibility Specialists are experienced professionals responsible for ensuring websites meet accessibility standards independently. The internship serves as a stepping stone, while the specialist role involves advanced knowledge and certifications.

What skills do you need to be an internship web accessibility specialist?

An internship web accessibility specialist needs strong knowledge of web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, along with understanding of accessibility standards like WCAG and ARIA. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with assistive technologies are also important, and certifications such as Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) can enhance qualifications.

PWM brings together dedicated advisors and the breadth of Goldman Sachs' global resources to help clients pursue their financial goals through customized strategies and access to the firm's capabilities across public and private markets.

The PWM Marketing Team

The PWM Marketing Team develops and executes marketing strategies that increase awareness, deepen client and prospect engagement, and elevate the visibility of Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management offerings. The team partners closely with business leaders, advisors, investment professionals, communications, digital, compliance, and external partners to bring the full value of the Goldman Sachs network, expertise, and brand to PWM audiences.

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented PWM Marketing Designer to help create high-quality visual assets that support PWM marketing campaigns, client communications, events, presentations, and digital experiences.

Role Summary

As a PWM Marketing Designer, you will support the development and production of compelling, brand-aligned creative assets across digital, print, presentation, and event channels. This role is ideal for an early-career designer with strong technical skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to translate business objectives into clear, polished visual communications.

You will work as part of a collaborative marketing team, applying established brand guidelines and design systems while contributing fresh ideas and thoughtful execution. The role requires strong organizational skills, comfort managing multiple priorities, and the ability to produce accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce high-quality, brand-aligned creative assets across digital, print, presentation, email, social, event, and internal marketing channels.
  • Create client-facing presentations, pitch materials, one-pagers, fact sheets, email graphics, invitations, agendas, signage, banners, name badges, event programs, digital displays, and other PWM marketing collateral.
  • Translate campaign themes, event concepts, and business objectives into polished visual communications appropriate for a private wealth management audience.
  • Adapt creative concepts into multiple formats and channel-specific executions while maintaining consistency across PWM touchpoints.
  • Support image sourcing, editing, retouching, formatting, and preparation of print-ready files.
  • Partner with marketers, writers, business stakeholders, compliance reviewers, event teams, vendors, and senior designers to deliver effective creative solutions.
  • Incorporate creative direction, stakeholder feedback, approved copy updates, and compliance comments accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage multiple design requests simultaneously, communicate project status clearly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Apply Goldman Sachs brand standards, visual identity guidelines, accessibility considerations, and design best practices across all deliverables.
  • Review materials for formatting consistency, visual accuracy, hierarchy, readability, content placement, and production readiness.
  • Maintain organized files, templates, assets, and version control.
  • Contribute ideas and design recommendations that improve clarity, engagement, and visual impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
  • 1 to 3 years of professional design experience, including internships, agency experience, in-house design, or financial services marketing experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals, visual storytelling, layout, typography, hierarchy, and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Experience designing presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and standard office productivity tools.
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar collaborative design tools.
  • Ability to work across both digital and print formats.
  • Familiarity with email marketing design and digital campaign assets.
  • Basic understanding of responsive design principles for web and email.
  • Experience preparing files for print production and coordinating with production vendors.
  • Experience working within established brand guidelines and compliance review processes.

Skills and Attributes

  • Strong design judgment and command of graphic design fundamentals, including typography, layout, grids, color, composition, and content hierarchy.
  • Ability to translate complex or technical information into clear, visually engaging communications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Resourceful, proactive, and comfortable solving design challenges independently.
  • Able to receive feedback constructively and revise work efficiently.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to shift between projects, priorities, formats, and audiences.
