Job description

We are seeking an entry-level to early-career Software Developer to join our software engineering team and help design, build, test, and maintain software applications that support mission-critical systems. This role may include front-end, back-end, testing, or integration work depending on project needs and the candidate's experience.
In this role, you'll work closely with other engineers to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions while continuing to grow your technical skills. You may contribute to user interfaces, APIs, backend services, data access layers, automated tests, documentation, or other parts of the software development lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is curious, motivated, and eager to learn. We're looking for someone with a strong foundation in programming concepts, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Prior professional experience is helpful but not required. This role is a good fit for someone who wants to continue developing as a software engineer while contributing to real-world systems and client solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
• Experience with at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python or a similar language.
• Familiarity with software development principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Ability to contribute to front-end, back-end, testing, database, or integration work based on project needs.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Basic understanding of APIs, web applications, or software systems.
• Ability to learn new technologies, tools, frameworks, and project domains.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous internship, academic, personal project, or professional software development experience.
• Experience with back-end frameworks, databases, or cloud technologies.
• Desire to grow and continue advancing with the company in the long-term.
Location: Contractor site in Annapolis Junction, MD. Hybrid possible.
