Job Summary:

Children's Museum Houston seeks a creative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Branding Intern to join our Branding team for the Fall 2026 semester.

This paid internship offers hands-on experience in graphic design, brand management, environmental graphics, and creative production within one of Houston's premier cultural institutions. The Branding Intern will assist with the creation, organization, and production of visual assets that support Museum exhibits, events, marketing campaigns, and day-to-day branding initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in graphic design, branding, marketing, advertising, visual communications, or related creative fields who are looking to build a professional portfolio while gaining real-world agency-style experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing marketing materials for Museum exhibits, programs, seasonal events, and community initiatives.
  • Create graphics for print and digital platforms, including signage, flyers, brochures, posters, social media, presentations, and web assets.
  • Support the production of environmental graphics and Museum signage.
  • Assist in preparing artwork for print production and installation.
  • Help organize and maintain digital asset libraries, templates, and brand resources.
  • Ensure creative materials align with Children's Museum Houston brand standards.
  • Assist with photo editing, image selection, and basic illustration work.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for campaigns and special projects.
  • Assist with exhibit branding, event décor, and promotional materials as needed.
  • Provide support during major Museum events, exhibit openings, and seasonal activations.
  • Perform other branding and creative projects as assigned.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Fine Arts, ora related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
  • Basic understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and branding principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communicationandtime-managementskills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
  • Portfolio showcasing coursework or personal creative projects is preferred.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience creating graphics for social media and digital marketing.
  • Photography or photo editing experience.
  • Illustration skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with Canva, Microsoft Office, or Google Workspace.
  • Interest in museums, education, nonprofit organizations, or experiential design.
