What does our Internship Program offer?
Key's Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing one's full-time career to Key post college.
Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Key's business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Key's competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.
Key Finance & Accounting
Key's Finance organization acts as a strategic partner across all business segments by providing insightful financial information, performance analysis, and advice to help achieve superior revenue growth and foster the further development of Key's relationship strategy. With a culture focused on execution and continuous improvement, the team is reimagining business processes to increase efficiency and leverage financial data to drive valuable business insights.
The Accounting function, referred to at Key as Controllership, is a subset of the Finance organization. The Controllership function is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data as well as the preparation and submission of regulatory and other external financial reports
About the Line of Business Internship Program
Key's Finance/Accounting internship will provide the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a variety of projects within the Finance organization. Each intern within the Finance/Accounting function will be assigned to a specific team, and will work alongside that team on near-term deliverables, ad hoc projects, and various presentations throughout the internship. Finance/Accounting interns also receive networking opportunities with the Finance Leadership team, as well as professionals throughout Finance and Accounting. The program provides many opportunities to participate in training, self-study, and other events to broaden your network as well as financial, accounting, communications, and other skills.
Interns are eligible for consideration for full-time placement in our Finance Analyst Rotational Program after graduation and upon successful completion of the internship.
Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in development of financial projections
  • Build, utilize, and interpret financial models
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports
  • Report and measure line of business performance
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare and post journal entries
  • Compile external reports for regulators and stakeholders
  • Create presentations for leadership
  • Collaborate with business partners

Qualifications
  • Graduating with a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2028 with focused coursework in finance, accounting, economics and/or data science (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.2 GPA)
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities
  • Bring solid analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

Compensation and Benefits
This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $23 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.
