Job description

Description SAIC is seeking an Unreal Engine Developer to join our team. The Army Game Studio is seeking a highly motivated mid-level Unreal Engine 4/5 Developer. In this position, you will join a new development team primarily focused on developing serious games and training applications. You will be a key member of an agile scrum development team working closely with fellow programmers, game designers, subject matter experts, and artists on developing serious games and virtual trainers for the Army and other DoD customers. Please note this role is fully remote. Responsibilities and Duties * Interact with team members, customers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop an application using the Unreal 4 and 5 game engine.
* Contribute creatively to the application design and development process, from prototype to delivery.
* Develop and test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code.
* Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards.
* Document and peer review technical designs with other software engineers.
* Write efficient code with descriptive comments and maintain attention to detail.
* Take ownership of work as a highly motivated self-starter.
* Possess a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work in a small team environment. Qualifications Education and Experience * Bachelor's in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Game Programming, or related technical discipline and at least fourteen (14) years of relevant experience is required; Demonstratable work experience (6 additional years of experience) may be used in lieu of degree.
Clearance Requirements * Must possess a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required.
Qualifications and Skills * Demonstrated experience and proficiency in C++ with the Unreal 4/5 Engine (3 or more years).
* Experience with version control software (Perforce, Git etc.).
* Experience in other Game Engines (Unity, VBS, etc).
* Experience with AR/VR platforms (HTC Vive, Oculus, ARKit, Hololense, etc).
* Experience with iOS, Android, and/or Windows Mobile development.
* Experience with C/C++ Objective-C, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, XML and other languages.
* Experience with the life cycle of design and programming of training content from concept through project completion.
* Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
* A portfolio/Github with examples of past work is preferred. Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
