You will join a collaborative team delivering gas turbine retrofit projects using Emerson's Ovation product line, gaining handson experience with realworld applications, control strategies, and system design.

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL:

  • Learn combustion turbine operations, mechanical fundamentals, and system behavior to support controls development.
  • Build foundational knowledge of combustion turbine control strategies used in modern power generation systems.
  • Develop application code solutions and contribute to real-world project deliverables.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and testing HMI control screens that support operator visibility and decisionmaking.
  • Support software testing, troubleshooting, and application validation using historical and live system data.
  • Contribute to the development of software standards, templates, and best practices to improve consistency and quality.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams-internally and externally-to support successful project execution.
  • Receive mentorship and handson guidance from experienced controls engineers as you build technical depth and engineering judgment.

Who You Are:
You communicate clearly and confidently, ensuring your ideas are understood by both technical and nontechnical audiences. You build strong relationships by listening carefully, sharing knowledge openly, and working collaboratively toward team goals. You stay curious and openminded, asking thoughtful questions to understand challenges and explore new possibilities. When priorities shift, you remain adaptable and focused, approaching problems with a calm, solutionsoriented mindset.

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering or STEM degree
  • Interest in controls engineering, troubleshooting, and power generation systems.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow in a dynamic, fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed to support projects.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.  Emerson will not petition for H-1B or any other visa for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • Coursework, internships, or hands-on project experience related to control systems, automation, or power systems.
  • Exposure to software testing, HMI design, or system validation.
  • Familiarity with industrial control systems or programming languages such as ladder logic, function block, or structured text.
  • An interest in power generation technology, sustainability, or modernization of legacy infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and apply engineering principles to solve problems.
