Job description

Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Superintendent (Triple Hat) to lead on-site field operations on federal construction projects. This role combines the responsibilities of SuperintendentSite Safety and Health Officer (SSHO), and Quality Control Manager (QAQC). The ideal candidate will have experience managing safety, quality, and field operations on USACE projects, with a strong understanding of EM 385-1-1 standards.

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
  • Lead subcontractors and field teams to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.
  • Serve as the on-site SSHO, implementing the Accident Prevention Plan (APP), conducting safety meetings, and producing Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs).
  • Act as the QAQC representative, conducting inspections, managing submittals, and ensuring compliance with project specifications.
  • Write and submit daily reports, safety reports, and quality control documentation using Procore and RMS/QCS.
  • Coordinate permits, resolve jurisdictional issues, and manage jobsite logistics.
  • Conduct preparatory and initial quality control meetings with subcontractors and project teams.
  • Monitor site safety through daily walkthroughs and weekly safety meetings.
  • Maintain strong communication with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Plan and manage work schedules, manpower, materials, and final punch lists.

Education and Training Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10+ years in construction management, safety, or quality control on federal projects ($1M–$5M+)
  • Certifications (Required or obtainable within 30 days of hire):
    • OSHA 30
    • USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM-C)
    • First Aid/CPR
Knowledge, Skill and Competency Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA 29 CFR 1926.16 safety standards.
  • Proficient in ProcoreRMS/QCSMS OfficeMS Project, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction drawings (civil, structural, architectural, MEP).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Physically able to navigate construction sites and perform field inspections.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to walk uneven terrain and work in outdoor environments.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to climb, kneel, or lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Visual acuity for reading plans and performing inspections.
